IWTV Faces Major Championship Shake-Up After Unexpected Injury
The always volatile IWTV Championship scene has shifted once again as a result of last Friday's (12/5) ACTION Wrestling event Bangers Only 6.
The closing moments of the event saw current IWTV Independent Wrestling World Champion Ryan Clancy make his seventh defense of the title against Adrian Alanis.
Moments after his victory he was confronted by then ACTION Wrestling World Champion, Tim Bosby and his manager, Dylan Hales.
Bosby, who at that point had held the ACTION Championship for over a year, has been a staple of the Pro Wrestling Illustrated top contenders list for the IWTV Independent Wrestling World Championship but has never received a title shot.
The public confrontation between Clancy, Bosby and Hales, led to the shocking revelation that the IWTV Independent Wrestling Tag Team Champions, 4825 (Jaden Newman & Jamesen Shook) were forfeiting their championships as a result of Newman suffering a full ACL tear that will require surgery.
After 4825's announcement it was revelated that IWTV officials had granted Shook a guaranteed future World Championship bout against Clancy.
The chaos continued in the main event which saw Darian Bengston defeat Tim Bosby to win the ACTION World Championship. The show concluded with Clancy and Bengston holding up their respective titles.
The chaotic conclusion to the show has raised more questions than answers regarding the future of the IWTV championships.
IWTV officials have yet to confirm the fate of the Tag Team Titles, though rumors have swirled about a possible tournament, with many teams privately approaching IWTV officials staking their respective claims.
The World Championship picture is also complicated by the weekend's events.
Ryan Clancy has a currently scheduled championship defense against Gabby Forza (12/31) on the books. That said, IWTV officials have confirmed that Jamesen Shook is due a title match, and both Tim Bosby and Darian Bengston have been heavily favored for future championship bouts for months according to several sources close to the matter.
