IWTV's Throwback Thursday Lineup Is Loaded With Independent Wrestling Stars Of The Past And Present

Every week IWTV celebrates Throwback Thursday by releasing a variety of classic independent wrestling events. Here is a quick look at some of the highlights from this week.

• Absolute Intense Wrestling's Absolution XI was one of the promotions biggest events of 2016. The stacked line up includes a wild lucha libre trios opener, a brilliant grappling contest between Zack Sabre Jr and Louis Lyndon, Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae teaming to take on Ethan Carter III and Karlee Perez and a triple threat main event for the AIW Absolute Title that sees Ethan Page put the title on the line against both Josh Prohibition and Josh Alexander.

• More recently AIW faced a pirate invasion when former WWE star Paul Burchill sailed into Cleveland to take on "The Captain of the Ship" Louis Lyndon at Walk The Plank. The card also features Joey Janela vs Candice LeRae and then Absolute Champion Josh Prohibition putting the title on the line against "Hot Sauce" Tracy Williams

• Combat Zone Wrestling's Best Of The Best has long been one of indie wrestling's most prestigious tournaments and BOTB V illustrates why as the field includes independent wrestling legends like Chris Hero (Kassius Ohno), Kevin Steen, Claudio Castagnoli (Cesaro), El Generico, Super Dragon, B-Boy, Arik Cannon, Nate Webb and more.

• CZW's Down With The Sickness 2013 is double main evented by a wild ladder match for the Wired TV Championship pitting AR Fox vs Andrew Everett vs Alex Colon vs Shane Strickland and a CZW World Title match with Drew Gulak defending against Chris Dickinson

• IWA Mid-South's 2013 event Old Scars And Bad Blood showcases talent from every era of the promotions history. The eclectic lineup sees Jonathan Gresham take on IWA-original Tarek The Great, Drake Younger vs Trik Davis, BJ Whitmer go to battle with Sabu, plus Jimmy Jacobs, Zach Gowen, Chris Hamrick and more.
